Sumpter Named MVP As Panthers Win Best of Summer

LOS ANGELES -- The names on the Long Island Panthers read like a who's who among top 100 recruiting lists, with 6-9 Jason Fraser, 6-2 Taquan Dean and 6-9 Charlie Villanueva, just to name a few of the more well known Panthers. But their championship run at the Best of the Summer Tournament was spearheaded by the often underappreciated Curtis Sumpter, who is pictured at right driving to the basket during the Panthers' championship game victory over the Houston Superstars.
